Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a registered nurse for the 2 W Progressive Care Unit on the night shift (7:00 pm - 7:30 am). The role requires completing 48 hours per bi-weekly pay period and delivering high-standard care in a monitored setting.

Responsibilities include applying the nursing process, maintaining patient safety and privacy, and coordinating care with a multidisciplinary team. Certifications in BLS and ACLS are required or obtained within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Must possess valid State of Michigan Nursing License.
• BLS Certification required.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum one year of medical/surgical or critical care nursing experience or related medical center experience.
• Excellent customer service and strong communication skills, professional demeanor.

The registered nurse is a professional nurse who coordinates the delivery of nursing care for monitored patients during their hospital stay including cardiac monitoring, hemodynamic stabilization, responsive to emergent situations and care of evidence-based medicine patients. The registered nurse ensures that quality nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the Michigan Department of Public Health, the medical center and nursing department standards. Utilizing the nursing process, functions primarily in direct patient care. The registered nurse participates in maintaining a safe patient care environment, maintains patient privacy, dignity, confidentiality and respects patient’s rights.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Required

• Minimum one year previous experience as a Medical/Surgical or critical care RN or LPN, OR other Medical Center related experience (Student Nurse Tech, Nurse Aide, Unit Clerk, etc.)


• Possesses excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate and present self to patient, visitors, other staff and physicians verbally and in writing in courteous, confident and professional manner

Preferred

• Previous clinical experience in Critical Care Unit (ICU, CCU, ER, OR)


• BSN in Nursing


• Completed and certified (up to date) in Basic Arrhythmia
