Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center Inc. is hiring an Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time night shift in the Medical Surgical Unit. The role offers a sign-on bonus and a competitive hourly pay range. You will provide direct, evidence-based patient care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and support ongoing professional growth.

Candidates should hold a current RN license and BLS; ACLS is preferred and BSN is encouraged. Prior acute care experience is valued to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS certification required at hire and maintained.
• ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintained (preferred).
• Acute care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, patient-centered nursing care.
• Assess, monitor, and report changes in patient conditions to the team.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products per orders.
• Coordinate with physicians, APPs, therapists and other team members.
• Assist with procedures, diagnostics and patient stabilization.
• Operate and monitor department clinical equipment.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, meds, plans and discharge.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation in a timely manner.
• Promote patient safety, quality outcomes, infection prevention and compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers safe, high-quality, patient‑centered care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. • Coordinate and collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members.
• Assist with procedures, diagnostics, patient stabilization, and other department‑specific clinical interventions.
• Operate and monitor clinical equipment appropriate to the assigned department.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Promote patient safety, quality outcomes, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Pay Transparency

Central Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $36.00 to $49.16 per hour. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
