Job summary

Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse 1-2 to join our dedicated healthcare team in the Operating Room. The hospital is a 24-bed acute care facility serving the Florida Parishes region of Southeast Louisiana with a broad range of services, including general surgery and 24-hour emergency care.

The RN must hold a current Louisiana RN license (or approved permit) and BLS/ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana RN license or temporary permit or multi-state RN license (NLC/eNLC).
• BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
• Operating Room experience preferred.
• Willingness to work on-call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Identifies patient and verifies chart and procedure site.
• Plans, implements, and evaluates the patient care plan in the OR.
• Supervises and directs patient care and personnel in a single OR.
• Assists surgeon and anesthetist; maintains proper technique and safety.
• Circulating nurse duties: prepare room, supplies, and charting.
• Scrub nurse duties: prepare equipment, pass instruments, counts.

Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse 1-2 to join our dedicated healthcare team. Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center is a 24-bed acute care critical access hospital serving the Florida Parishes region of Southeast Louisiana. We offer a wide range of services including general surgery and a 24-hour emergency department. This Registered Nurse 1-2 position is located in the Operating Room.

Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse.

Job Duties:

• Identifies patient properly and verifies completeness of chart and procedure site.
• Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plan to meet the individualized needs of the patient. Supervises and directs patient care and personnel in a single operating room.
• Provide assistance to surgeon and anesthetist as necessary. Ensures proper technique and practices are maintained.
• Reports any change in the patient's condition.
• Circulating Nurse: Identifies needed supplies and equipment to prepare room for patient and procedure. Assesses and meets the patient's individual physical, safety, and emotional needs. Assures completion of the patient's chart, OR records, and charge slips.
• Scrub Nurse: Prepares equipment and packs for use in the procedure.
  • Scrubs, gowns, and gloves self and other team members for the procedure. Handles instruments and packs correctly and ensures their proper functioning. Participates in all required counts.

• Assist with annual review and revision of departmental policy and procedure manual.
• Attend Educational In-Services, Mandatory Training and Annual Review as required by hospital policy and procedure, or deemed necessary by supervisor. Any and all other duties as assigned to include ensuring departmental coverage.

Position Specific Details

Work Location: This RN 1-2 position is located in the Operating Room.

Work Schedule: The shift schedule will be determined by the Department Manager and the incumbent must be available to work on-call as needed.

Career Progression: As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Registered Nurse 1 or 2 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s).

Compensation: The following is the starting rate for the RN 1 and Special Entrance Rate (SER) for the RN 2 within the Operating Room:

• RN 1 – Starting Salary is $24.57/per hour. This position is also eligible for Shift Differential , Domicile Pay and On-Call Pay.
• RN 2 – Starting Salary is $27.00/per hour. This position is also eligible for Shift Differential, Domicile Pay and On-Call Pay

The incumbent shall possess and maintain a current LA State RN licensure, a valid BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
