Job summary

Caring Hospice Services is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide compassionate hospice care in the York/Harrisburg area, with a focus on pain and symptom control. You will assess patients, review medical histories, support families, and document care plans. Travel is required as you work on the road with a dedicated patient load.

PA RN licensure is required; hospice experience is preferred. This full-time role includes a signing bonus of $3,000 along with standard benefits such as 401(k),

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Work area: York/Harrisburg

The RN provides nursing care with special emphasis on control of pain and other symptoms to the hospice patient.

Job Functions for Registered Nurse:

• Assess the physical and psychological status of the patient.
• Reviews past and present medical history of the patient. Perceptive in planning and problem solving.
• Provides emotional support to caregivers.
• Responds to calls promptly when received from answering service. Is able to prioritize.
• Able to work independently and make critical decisions based on available patient information.
• Performs ongoing assessment of patients conditions, physical needs and needs of family for support in giving care.
• Maintains ongoing communication with prescribing physician for changes in medication and treatments as needed.
• Documents hospice patients condition and nursing interventions on clinical record.

Qualifications:

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in State of PA.
• Hospice experience preferred
• Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid requirements outlined in the laws of licensure in the state (s) which he/she practices.
• Must possess strong patient assessment, patient management and documentation skills.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, telephone, documentation and communication skills
• Access to reliable automobile with proof of liability insurance
