Third (Nights)Overview:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing competent nursing care based on the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, care coordination, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. The RN adheres to professional standards encompassing ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health. They possess the clinical knowledge and skills required for their specific clinical area.
Preferred qualifications include BSN or MSN. The RN must meet and maintain any specific specialty requirements, such as ACLS within 1 year of hire for Critical Care/IMCU, PALS or ENPC within 1 year for Emergency Care, Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months for Oncology, NRP within 6 months for Perinatal departments, and BLS within 90 days for all direct care RNs.
