Job summary

OneOncology-affiliated Arizona Blood and Cancer Specialists in Tucson is seeking an Oncology Registered Nurse to join our compassionate team. You will deliver chemotherapy, biologics, immunotherapy and supportive care while monitoring patients’ physical and emotional well‑being in a patient‑centered model close to home.

We're looking for a licensed RN with oncology experience, BLS certification and venipuncture skills to educate patients and families, collaborate with the care team, and support

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• BLS certification.
• Current Arizona RN license in good standing.
• Competent in venipuncture and vascular access.
• Completion of chemotherapy course (ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patient's physical and emotional well-being.
• Documents nursing encounters in the Electronic Medical Record.
• Verifies orders and administers chemotherapy, biologics, immunotherapy and supportive care per policy.
• Recognizes and responds to cancer-related issues including toxicities and oncological emergencies.
• Assesses readiness of patient/family to learn and provide individualized patient education.
• Provides compassionate support to patients and family.
• Communicates with patients and providers pertinent concerns or feedback.
• Identifies and resolves barriers to safe, quality patient care.
• Triage and prioritize needs of patients either directly or by phone.
• Participates and monitors quality improvement activities.
• Responsible for clinical scheduling, employee evaluations and staff development for clinical team members.
• Acts as a liaison between the clinical and administrative staff.
• Assists in the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.
