IR Centers in St. Louis, MO, seeks a Registered Nurse for full-time day-shift work Monday–Friday to support interventional radiology procedures with moderate sedation.

The RN will participate in patient assessment, care planning, and collaboration with physicians, while ensuring HIPAA compliance and high-quality nursing practice.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Valid RN license to practice in the state.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience with moderate sedation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures per policies and regulations.
  • Explains procedures to patients and maintains confidentiality (HIPAA).
  • Supports and drives quality patient care by implementing facility-specific action plans and goals.
  • Performs tasks with judgment, assisting team members and offering solutions.
  • Maintains accuracy of medical records and conducts audits.
  • Ensures facility cleanliness and safety, inspects equipment, and manages supplies.

IR Centers at Urology of St.Louis is a multidisciplinary private practice endovascular lab. We are leading minimally invasive procedures across the U.S. by providing interventional radiology services in an outpatient setting.

Position Summary

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for the assessment of patients, including the development, evaluation, and modification of the plan of care for patients undergoing procedures with moderate sedation. You will provide care to patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and other healthcare team members, according to established standards. Patients served include all age groups.

Responsibilities
  • Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations
  • Explains procedures to patients, addressing concerns, and ensuring patient confidentiality (HIPAA)
  • Supports and drives quality patient care by implementing facility-specific action plans and goals
  • Performs tasks with considerable judgment, providing assistance to team members and offering solutions
  • Ensures medical records are accurate, complete, and compliant with regulations, performing regular audits
  • Maintains the cleanliness and safety of the facility, inspecting equipment, recommending repairs, and managing supplies efficiently
  • Assists with hazardous waste disposal and upholds environmental standards
  • Attends meetings, collaborates with physicians, and addresses their concerns
  • Participates in the development of radiography policies and supports regulatory surveysAdministers moderate sedation during procedure
  • Conducts pre-op and follow-up calls
  • Provides education and hands-on training related to patient assessment, moderate sedation protocols, documentation standards, and emergency procedures.
  • Serves as a clinical resource and mentor to new hires, reinforcing adherence to policies, safety standards, and best practices.
  • Supports competency validation and contributes to consistent, high-quality nursing practice across the department
Skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven experience with monitoring and maintaining inventory
  • Proven working experience with moderate sedation
  • Proficient in the use of computers and related software such as Microsoft Office and EMR systems
  • Strong IV insertion skills
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Valid Registered Nurse license to practice in this state
  • BLS certification, ACLS certification (Or willingness to obtain)
  • English
