Job summary

Franklin County Medical Center is seeking a Long-Term Care RN or LPN to join our close-knit team in southeast Idaho. You will provide skilled nursing care for long-term residents with a strong nurse-to-patient ratio, enjoying flexible, family-friendly scheduling and a stress-reduced environment.

The role offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus for full-time and $2,500 for part-time, with competitive wages and education opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Must be a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Idaho.
  • Hold a current BLS certification; ACLS optional.
  • Have a working knowledge of nursing, healthcare safety, state and federal regulations, and regulatory processes.
  • Have good communication skills both written and oral in the English language.
  • Be able to manage, support, and work cooperatively with individuals and committees.
  • Be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Be able to interpret a variety of technical instructions that deal with abstract and concrete variables.
  • Have or be able to learn computer skills required in the documentation of resident care.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care by assessing, planning, and implementing plans based on the individual needs of the patient.
  • Accurately report and document patient conditions, including signs and symptoms indicative of change, using a computerized charting system.
  • Implement standard nursing procedures as ordered by a physician.
  • Administer medications, including narcotics and controlled substances, as ordered by a physician.
  • Delegate certain aspects of patient care to other healthcare team members, including CNAs.
  • Conduct nursing research and provide feedback to CNAs, upholding facility standards.

Job Title: Long-Term Care Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)


Department: Long-Term Care


Reports To: Long-Term Care DON


FLSA Status: Non-Exempt


Hours: 24-28/week


Shifts: Days and evenings with alternating weekends

More specifically, some of your daily responsibilities would include:


  • Providing direct patient care by assessing, planning, and implementing plans based on the individual needs of the patient

Essential Job Functions:

  • Regular and predictable attendance required
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms
  • Continuously performs difficult manipulative skills
  • Frequently performs tasks which require moderate to complex manipulation.
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb, and balance
  • Frequently repositions patients, transfers patients, pushes/pulls patients, and pushes/pulls patients in a wheelchair
  • Occasionally required to operate foot controls
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Must comply with HIPAA to protect information that is sensitive, proprietary, or confidential
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as situations require to maintain infection control standards set by the facility

Work Environment:

  • FCMC operates 24 hours per day each day of the year; operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the patients
  • Potential exposure to blood, body tissue and fluids, contagious diseases, and hazardous waste
  • Occasional exposure to bodily injury, loud/unpleasant noise, unpleasant odor, emotional or physical stress
