Job summary

Franklin County Medical Center in southeast Idaho is hiring a CNA-Acute Care Tech/Ward Clerk to join our Hospital team. This full-time role covers 36-40 hours per week with Day, Evening, and possible Night shifts, supporting acute care patients and the nursing staff.

You will assist with patient care, document appropriately, and uphold HIPAA, safety, and infection control standards while delivering compassionate service in a non-profit community hospital.

Qualifications

  • Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in Idaho or willing to obtain CNA within 120 days of hire.
  • CPR-certified.
  • Working knowledge of basic healthcare equipment including wheelchairs, electrical beds, lift equipment, carts, scales, and vital sign analysis equipment.
  • Able to competently and positively work with residents, other employees, and the public.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care for patients.
  • Establish patient care goals and measure health outcomes against these goals and standards.
  • Teach patients, family, and friends to understand the patients' conditions and necessary medication and self-care skills.
  • Supervise and collaborate with other members of the nursing care team to ensure that each patient's needs are met.
  • Document patient care activities.
  • Adhere to medication administration and storage procedures, controlled substance regulations, and infection control policies.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge.

What You Can Do For Fcmc

Our Acute Care Registered Nurses ensure the wellbeing of our acute care patients. Our skilled nurses assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing practices and approaches based on the needs of each patient. Some of these vital responsibilities include:

Requirements

  • Must be CPR-certified
  • Must have a working knowledge of basic healthcare equipment including wheelchairs, electrical beds, lift equipment, carts, scales, and vital sign analysis equipment
  • Must be able to competently and positively work with residents, other employees, and the public
Essential Job Functions
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or twist
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance
  • Occasionally required to operate foot controls and lifts
  • Frequently able to move or push up to 35 pounds, and occasionally able to lift, carry, move, or push up to 100 pounds
  • Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision
  • Must comply with HIPAA and patient privacy
  • Must wear PPE when situations require
Work Environment
  • FCMC operates 24 hours per day each day of the year: operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the patients
  • Potential exposure to blood, body tissue and fluids, contagious diseases, and hazardous waste
  • Occasional exposure to bodily injury, loud or unpleasant noise, unpleasant odor, and emotional or physical stress
