Job summary

Boston IVF in Portland, ME is seeking an Experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time 40-hour weekly position, with weekend and holiday rotation.

The nurse will coordinate care for fertility patients, educate them through treatment options, and support the care team. Active RN license required; BSN preferred; EMR experience and 2+ years of nursing experience highly valued.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required.
• 2+ years nursing experience preferred.
• Experience in women's healthcare preferred.
• BSN degree preferred; ACLS/BCLS certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care and treatment for fertility patients.
• Assist providers with in-office procedures as needed.
• Manage diagnostic and treatment plans per policies.
• Review medical records and ensure EMR accuracy.
• Educate patients about testing, options and RMA processes.
• Maintain timely documentation of patient care in EMR.
• Provide compassionate emotional support to patients.
• Mentor and train fellow nurses and promote teamwork.

We currently have a full time (40 hour) opening for an Experienced Registered Nurse (RN) at the Boston IVF, Portland, ME Facility. The position includes weekends and holiday rotation, based on the needs of the company.

Job Purpose:

The Nurse will function as a dynamic member of the patient care team, providing education and guidance to fertility patients throughout their journey. The Registered Nurse will serve as treatment coordinator and strive to provide every individual an optimal patient experience.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities:

• Assists with coordination of care, management, and treatment of fertility patients.
• Implements Provider directives through management of diagnostic and clinical treatment plans.
• Provides care for assigned patients by applying appropriate RMA workflows, policies and clinical practice guidelines:
• Reviews medical records and lab results. Ensure accurate data is entered into the EMR.
• Communicates test results and patient instructions
• Provide patient education throughout all aspects of the treatment journey. Sets appropriate expectations, educates patient/couple on testing, treatment options and RMA processes.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation of patient care services in the EMR
• Demonstrates skills and judgment necessary to implement the plan of care. Performs nursing interventions and procedures necessary to promote the care and safety of the patient.
• Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients; comforts patients by anticipating their anxieties, answering questions and addressing concerns.
• Participates in the education and training of nurses. Mentor peers. Promotes a collaborative and productive environment both intra-departmentally as well as inter-departmentally.
• Assists provider with in-office procedures, as needed.

Academic Training:

• Active RN license without limitations - required
• Studies area: Nursing
• BSN Degree—highly preferred
• Studies level: University Education (Bachelor's Degree)
• Studies area: Nursing
• BCLS and/or ACLS and/or IV certification – preferred
• Studies area: BCLS/ACLS

Position Requirements/Experience:

• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings - required
• 2+ years practical experience working as a nurse – highly preferred
• Prior experience in women’s healthcare –preferred

Technical Skills:

• Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience
