Must have RN experience. This is every other weekend.

Job description:

Responsible to coordinate and provide nursing services to inmates of the Behavioral Health Unit in accordance with established policies and procedures of the Unit, the policies and procedures of the Health Services Unit, and consistent with recognized nursing standards.

Key Responsibilities

Job Duties:

• Support 24-hour nursing coverage and clinical treatment in the Mental Health Unit.
• Coordinate sick call triage and ensure timely physician referrals.
• Administer and monitor medications per policy; implement psychiatric and physician orders promptly.
• Complete initial nursing assessments, document critical changes, and prepare discharge summaries.
• Assist in psychiatric service coordination, including medication compliance tracking and lab result reporting.
• Lead group counseling sessions and ensure Level II inmates receive two hours of daily out-of-cell time.
• Maintain and update Medication Administration Records (MARs).
• Adhere to security regulations and inmate confidentiality standards.
• Monitor medical supplies and manage inventory ordering.
• Collaborate effectively with Health Services, prison, and administrative staff.
• Comply with CMS and facility employee standards, maintain professional appearance, foster positive work relationships, and communicate absences promptly.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse licensed within the state of contract.
• Experience in providing services to a mentally ill and/or correctional population preferred.
• Must follow all applicable technical instructions and health services bulletins.
