Job summary

Beautiful Life is seeking a registered nurse to oversee medical needs in our Adult Day and Developmental Disabilities programs in Omaha, Nebraska. The role supports participants with complex medical needs, administers medications, monitors health conditions, and maintains accurate documentation in accordance with HIPAA and regulatory requirements.

The position is Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., offering competitive pay and benefits including vision insurance.

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted Nebraska RN License.
• Experience with tube feeding and individuals who have complex medical needs.
• Strong knowledge of medication administration and MAR documentation.
• Ability to identify and respond appropriately to urgent or critical medical conditions.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Strong clinical judgment, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate professionally with participants, families, employees, healthcare providers, and regulatory personnel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate the medical needs of Adult Day and DD participants.
• Assess participants’ health conditions and respond appropriately to changes or concerns.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and company policies.
• Provide tube-feeding care and monitor participants for complications.
• Support participants with complex or critical nursing needs.
• Maintain, review, and audit Medication Administration Records.
• Ensure MARs accurately reflect physician orders, medication changes, administration times, refusals, omissions, and required follow-up.
• Review medication orders, pharmacy labels, and MARs for accuracy and consistency.
• Monitor medication supplies, expiration dates, storage, and refill needs.
• Follow up promptly on missing medications, documentation errors, and medication discrepancies.
• Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, guardians, families, service coordinators, and other healthcare professionals as needed.
• Develop and update participant-specific nursing plans, protocols, and healthcare instructions.
• Maintain accurate and confidential nursing notes, assessments, incident reports, and other medical records.
• Respond to illnesses, injuries, seizures, diabetic emergencies, allergic reactions, falls, and other medical situations.
• Determine when emergency medical services or additional medical evaluation may be necessary.
• Monitor participants with diabetes and administer insulin or other prescribed diabetic treatments when authorized.
• Provide wound care, vital-sign monitoring, oxygen support, seizure monitoring, and other nursing services within the nurse’s scope of practice.
• Train and support medication aides and direct-support staff on participant-specific healthcare needs.
• Monitor staff compliance with medication-administration and medical protocols.
• Participate in participant intake assessments and review medical documentation before services begin.
• Maintain required medical certifications, physician orders, consents, and health records.
• Assist with medical audits, licensing reviews, investigations, and corrective-action plans.
• Follow infection-control, universal-precaution, medication-administration, and emergency-response procedures.
• Protect participants’ privacy and comply with HIPAA requirements.
• Perform other nursing-related responsibilities necessary to protect participants’ health and safety.

Position Summary

Beautiful Life is seeking a knowledgeable, compassionate, and dependable nurse to oversee the medical and healthcare needs of participants in our Adult Day and Developmental Disabilities programs.

The nurse will provide direct nursing support, monitor participants’ health conditions, administer medications and treatments, maintain accurate medical documentation, and help ensure compliance with applicable healthcare and DD regulations. The ideal candidate must be highly experienced in tube feeding, medication administration, Medication Administration Records (MARs), and caring for individuals with complex or critical medical needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Nebraska DD documentation, medication-administration, and healthcare requirements.
• Experience with electronic health records and electronic MAR systems.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the center during the scheduled shift.
• Ability to assist participants safely during medical situations.
• Ability to lift or reposition participants and medical supplies consistent with company policy and applicable safety requirements.
• Ability to respond promptly to emergencies throughout the facility.
• Ability to supervise a team of caregivers/CNAs.

Work Schedule

The regular schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The nurse must be dependable, punctual, and available during scheduled program hours. Occasional schedule adjustments may be required based on participant medical needs, staff training, emergencies, or regulatory requirements.
