Job summary

USPI Odessa Endoscopy Center in Odessa, TX is seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to join our team for outpatient gastroenterology procedures. The role is weekdays only with no holidays, weekends, or on-call, though early mornings and evenings may occur based on surgical schedule.

The RN will plan, execute, direct, and evaluate nursing care from preoperative through postoperative stages, ensuring patient comfort and continuity of care within a fast-paced endoscopy setting.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in the state.
• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have at least 1-3 years' previous experience.
• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred.
• Must have current BLS, ALS and PALS.
• Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient.
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation.
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed.
• Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Perform all nursing duties in accordance with the state Nursing Practice Act, while adhering to all facility policies and procedures.
• Actively demonstrate a working knowledge of nursing theory, techniques, principles, and practice in order to care for the patient.
• Perform routine nursing care while utilizing age specific and universal precaution practices at all times; monitor progress and changes in status.
• Assist physicians and healthcare professionals, providing complete reports on patient status during procedures.
• Communicate with staff, patients, and families with excellent written and verbal skills.
• Seek educational tools to broaden knowledge of various age groups, diseases, and best practices.
• Collaborate with Infection Control to prevent infections.
• Support continuous improvement of quality and service excellence.
• May perform other tasks as assigned.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for planning, executing, directing and evaluating direct and indirect nursing care given to patient. The nursing care ranges from preoperative intervention, intraoperative and postoperative evaluation while meeting the patient’s needs and ensuring continuity of care.

Responsibilities
