Job summary

Kings Surgical Center is seeking a detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Operating Room team. The RN will provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care, maintain sterile technique, and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and staff to ensure patient safety and excellent outcomes.

The ideal candidate has a BSN, NY RN license, and BLS; ACLS preferred. Ambulatory surgery experience is a plus, with bilingual skills highly valued.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• 1+ year of OR/perioperative nursing experience preferred; ambulatory surgery experience a plus.
• Fluent in English; bilingual skills preferred (Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish, Korean, or Russian).
• Must be able to commute to Flushing, Queens for training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms, equipment, instruments, and supplies for surgical procedures.
• Perform pre-operative patient assessments and verify patient identity, surgical site, procedure, and consent documentation.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention standards throughout surgical procedures.
• Serve as the circulating nurse during procedures, coordinating activities within the operating room and supporting the surgical team.
• Monitor patient safety, positioning, and comfort before, during, and after surgery.
• Anticipate surgical team needs and ensure equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and PACU staff to support efficient patient flow.
• Document perioperative care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Identify and respond appropriately to intraoperative changes, emergencies, and patient safety concerns.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and infection control initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

Kings Surgical Center is seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Operating Room team. The OR Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive perioperative nursing care, ensuring a safe and efficient surgical environment, maintaining sterile technique, and collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery setting and is committed to patient safety, teamwork, and excellence in surgical care.

Salary Range:

$45 to $60 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities

Schedule:

• Typical schedule: Monday-Friday (with possibility of early morning start for first case). Weekends sometimes.
• No major holidays or weekends (though some ASCs may require occasional flexibility).
