Kings Surgical Center is seeking a detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Operating Room team in New York City. The RN will provide comprehensive perioperative care, maintain sterile technique, and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and staff to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN, NY RN license, BLS, and preferably ACLS, with 1+ year OR/perioperative experience.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited nursing program preferred.
• Current New York State RN license.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• 1+ year of Operating Room or perioperative nursing experience preferred; ambulatory surgery experience a plus.
• New graduates with strong clinical rotations in perioperative services may be considered.
• Fluent in English; bilingual skills (Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish, Korean, or Russian) strongly preferred.
• Ability to commute to Flushing, Queens for training

Responsabilités

• Prepare operating rooms, equipment, instruments, and supplies for surgical procedures.
• Perform pre-operative patient assessments and verify patient identity, surgical site, procedure, and consent documentation.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention standards throughout surgical procedures.
• Serve as the circulating nurse during procedures, coordinating activities within the operating room and supporting the surgical team.
• Monitor patient safety, positioning, and comfort before, during, and after surgery.
• Anticipate surgical team needs and ensure equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and PACU staff to support efficient patient flow.
• Document perioperative care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Identify and respond appropriately to intraoperative changes, emergencies, and patient safety concerns.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and infection control initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

Kings Surgical Center is seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Operating Room team. The OR Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive perioperative nursing care, ensuring a safe and efficient surgical environment, maintaining sterile technique, and collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery setting and is committed to patient safety, teamwork, and excellence in surgical care.

Salary Range:

$45 to $60 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities

Schedule:

• Typical schedule: Monday-Friday (with possibility of early morning start for first case). Weekends sometimes.
