Overview

Registered Nurse (Scrub / Circulating)

Location : Manhattan, New York

Position Type : Full-Time

Job Overview :

We are actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join the team. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Scrub Nurse and / or Circulating Nurse. This role provides an opportunity to be part of a patient-focused environment and deliver high-quality perioperative and postoperative care.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preoperative tasks, including patient preparation, verifying identity and procedures, providing instructions, and assisting patients to the OR.
  • Ensure proper pre-op documentation and conduct admission assessments, reporting any abnormal findings to the Anesthesiologist.
  • Admit and transfer patients to PACU, monitor post-op patients, take vital signs, and assess patient condition from admission to discharge, ensuring thorough documentation.
  • Provide post-op instructions to patients and perform follow-up calls, documenting responses in patient records.
  • Conduct pre-operative calls to patients before the day of surgery.
  • Maintain crash cart inventory and complete maintenance logs.
  • Assist scrub technicians with case preparations and supply management.
  • Support OR operations by providing additional instruments and supplies as needed.
  • Stay knowledgeable and up-to-date on the functionality and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Restock units as needed and maintain a clean, safe environment in the admitting and recovery areas.
  • Maintain required logs (e.g., refrigerator temperatures, crash cart, surgery, narcotics, specimen).
  • Facilitate communication between the front desk and OR staff for efficient patient flow.
  • Adhere to and report any violations of infection control policies, including hand hygiene, glove usage, needle stick prevention, and sterilization practices.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree or higher in Nursing.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License.
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications (PALS certification is a plus).
