New Brunswick Counseling Center (NBCC) is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to support our Opioid Treatment Program (OTP). The RN conducts nursing assessments, administers medications, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, patient-centered care within regulatory guidelines.

Open Monday through Friday with early morning shifts and Saturday coverage as needed; CARF-accredited nonprofit focused on recovery, wellness, and hope in the community.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Current CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work with individuals experiencing substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments for admissions and ongoing care.
• Administer and dispense medications per OTP regulations.
• Monitor patient responses to medications and document findings in the EHR.
• Collaborate with Medical Director, Nursing leadership, and treatment team.

Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) – Opioid Treatment Program (OTP)

New Brunswick Counseling Center (NBCC) is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to support our Opioid Treatment Program (OTP). This position provides direct nursing care, medication administration and dispensing, patient assessments, and clinical support to individuals receiving treatment for opioid use disorder and co-occurring behavioral health conditions.

The RN will work closely with the Medical Director, Director of Nursing, and interdisciplinary treatment team to ensure safe, effective, compassionate, and patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and organizational regulations governing Opioid Treatment Programs.

Schedule

Full-Time

• Monday–Friday: 5:45 AM–1:00 PM
• Rotating Saturdays: 5:45 AM–10:00 AM
• Willingness to provide coverage for the Mobile Medication Unit (MMU) as needed

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments for patient admissions, readmissions, and ongoing care.
• Administer and dispense medications in accordance with applicable federal and New Jersey regulations governing Opioid Treatment Programs (OTP).
• Monitor patients for medication effectiveness, side effects, adverse reactions, and changes in clinical or medical status.
• Collaborate with the Medical Director, Director of Nursing, and interdisciplinary treatment team regarding patient care, medication management, dosing-related concerns, and clinical needs.
• Accurately document medication administration, nursing assessments, patient encounters, clinical observations, and interventions in the electronic health record.
• Perform TB testing, vital sign monitoring, and other medical screenings and procedures as ordered.
• Assess and respond appropriately to medical emergencies, providing first aid and emergency interventions when necessary.
• Identify, document, and promptly communicate significant changes in patient condition to appropriate medical providers.
• Educate patients regarding medications, treatment plans, health maintenance, and recovery-related health concerns.
• Support safe medication storage, handling, inventory, documentation, and related nursing procedures in accordance with OTP requirements and organizational policies.
• Serve as a clinical resource to staff by providing guidance regarding patient medical needs and best practices in substance use disorder treatment.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory, accreditation, organizational, and professional nursing standards.
• Foster a compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered environment that supports recovery, wellness, and long-term stability.
• Participate in Mobile Medication Unit (MMU) operations and community outreach services as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.

Preferred

• Experience working in an Opioid Treatment Program (OTP), substance use disorder treatment, addiction medicine, behavioral health, or a related healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of opioid use disorder treatment and medications commonly used in OTP settings, including applicable medication administration, monitoring, documentation, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with medication dispensing, controlled substance procedures, and electronic health record documentation.
