Job summary

New Brunswick Counseling Center (NBCC) in Mount Holly, NJ, is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) to support the MAT Program. You will provide safe, patient-centered care during early morning dosing hours (5:45 AM – 10:00 AM) and commit to morning shifts.

You will collaborate with the Medical Director and nursing leadership, administer medications according to state and OTP regulations, document care, and educate patients.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license.
• Commit to three morning shifts weekly and two Saturday shifts monthly.
• Experience in MAT/OTP or addiction treatment preferred.
• Knowledge of methadone and MAT regulations.
• Strong assessment and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments for admissions and ongoing care.
• Safely administer and dispense MAT medications per OTP regulations.
• Monitor patients for effectiveness, side effects, and clinical changes.
• Collaborate with Medical Director and treatment team on dosing decisions and patient care concerns.
• Document nursing actions and patient encounters accurately in a timely manner.
• Perform TB testing, vital signs, and essential medical screenings as ordered.
• Provide patient education on medications, treatment plans, health maintenance, and recovery.
• Rotate to and provide services on the Mobile Medication Unit (MMU) as needed.

About the Role

NBCC is hiring a Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to support Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program at our Mount Holly location. This position focuses on safe, patient-centered care during early morning dosing hours

We’re looking for someone who can commit to at least three morning shifts per week and two Saturday shift per month (5:45 AM – 10:00 AM).

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments for new admissions, readmissions, and ongoing patient care.
• Safely administer and dispense medications in accordance with New Jersey and federal Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) regulations.
• Monitor patients receiving medication-assisted treatment for effectiveness, side effects, adverse reactions, and changes in clinical status.
• Collaborate closely with the Medical Director, Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary treatment team regarding dosing decisions, medication adjustments, and patient care concerns.
• Accurately document medication administration, nursing assessments, patient encounters, and clinical interventions in a timely manner.
• Perform TB testing, vital sign monitoring, and other medical screenings as ordered.
• Assess and respond appropriately to medical emergencies, providing first aid and emergency interventions when necessary.
• Identify and escalateg significant changes in patient condition to appropriate medical providers.
• Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, health maintenance, and recovery-related medical issues.
• Serve as a clinical resource for staff by providing guidance on patient medical needs and best practices in addiction treatment.
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
• Foster a compassionate, patient-centered environment that supports recovery and long-term wellness.
• Willingness to rotate and provide services on the Mobile Medication Unit (MMU) as needed.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license (required)
• Able to commit to three weekday morning shifts (5:45 AM – 1:00 PM) each week and two Saturday shift per month (5:45 AM – 10:00 AM).
• Experience working in Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), Opioid Treatment Programs (OTP), addiction medicine, behavioral health, or substance use disorder treatment strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of methadone and other MAT medications, including dosing protocols, monitoring requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with patients experiencing substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
