Job summary

SunCloud Health in Illinois is seeking a licensed registered nurse to join our mental health care team. The role includes patient assessment, collaboration with MD/NP, and contributing to individualized care plans.

You will document care, administer medications per orders, monitor vital signs, and maintain HIPAA confidentiality while fostering a compassionate environment for patients and families. Active IL RN license required; experience in mental health, eating disorder, or substance use

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted IL Registered Nurse license.
• Experience in Mental Health, Eating Disorders or Substance use preferred.
• Proficient with HIPAA regulations.
• Understand SUPR (DASA) requirements in patient care.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Professional nursing principles, procedures, and techniques in psychiatric care.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient’s medical and psychiatric condition and assess needs.
• Observe and interpret symptoms and communicate with MD/NP.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to devise care plans.
• Communicate effectively with diverse individuals with sensitivity and tact.
• Perform routine procedures (vital signs, accu checks, pain assessment, injections) and document.
• Adjust and administer medications per physician orders.
• Maintain hygiene and safety in facilities (PPE, cleaning).
• Provide prompt, efficient, and responsive service.
• Ensure confidentiality of patient information and support evidence-based practices.
• Supervise/train LPNs, PCTs or CNAs.
• Foster compassionate environment for patients and families.
• Other duties as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

• Monitor patient’s medical and psychiatric condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care
• Observe and interpret patient’s symptoms and communicate with MD/NP
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients
• Communicate effectively with a variety of individuals and function calmly in situations, which require a high degree of sensitivity, tact, and diplomacy.
• Perform routine procedures (vital signs, accu checks, assess pain, administering injections etc.) and document in patients’ charts
• Adjust and administer patient’s medication and provide treatments according to physician’s orders
• Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, PPE etc.)
• Provide prompt, efficient, and responsive service.
• Understand and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information. · Implementing evidence-based practices
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing
• Supervise and/or train LPNs, PCTs or CNAs
• Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Active and unrestricted Registered License in Illinois
• Experience in Mental Health, Eating Disorder and/or Substance use preferred
• Proficiency in applying compliance standards, procedures and techniques is required with patient care.
• Understand and remain compliant with HIPAA regulations
• Understand and abide by SUPR (DASA) requirements as it relates to patient care regarding substance use
• Strong professional attitude and ability to work with and communicate effectively with all staff.
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Professional nursing principles, procedures, and techniques used in the care and treatment of psychiatric patients.
