The City of Lynchburg is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to provide health services to detainees and Juvenile Services residents in a detention setting. This full-time role runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with benefits.
Salary is negotiable based on experience and relevant nursing background. Responsibilities include performing physical assessments, administering medications, and coordinating care with other health professionals.

This job has no formal supervisory responsibilities. May direct and monitor the work of part-time nurses, interns and trainees.

Requires graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing and two years of successful experience in graduate nursing, hospital work or related field. Possession of certificate as a registered professional nurse as issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia;
Possession of valid Motor Vehicle License and acceptable driving record based on City criteria;
Prior to employment must have Criminal Record Check and, reference checks completed, and Child Protective Services check initiated. Prior to onset of employment must have tuberculin and drug screen as part of physical examination
