Job summary

Wexford Health Sources, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse to join Southern New Mexico Correctional Facility in Las Cruces, NM. The day shift (Friday, Saturday & Sunday) offers an opportunity to lead, teach, and advocate for patient care within a correctional setting.

You will assess health needs, administer medications, and guide treatment plans while collaborating with healthcare and correctional staff. Active RN license and CPR are required; correctional experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Active unrestricted RN license in state of practice (correctional experience preferred).
• Active CPR certification.
• Strong clinical and communication skills; adaptability in high-pressure settings.
• Compassionate, nonjudgmental approach to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assess physical and mental health needs of inmates and coordinate care.
• Administer medications and guide treatment plans.
• Educate patients and make timely referrals.
• Help maintain safety and standards across the unit.
• Mentor staff and respond to crises as needed.

Position Summary

As a Registered Nurse in our facility, you'll do more than care for patients-you'll lead, teach, and advocate. Working closely with healthcare and correctional staff, you'll assess physical/mental health needs, administer medications, and guide treatment plans from start to finish. You'll play a key role in supporting patient education, making timely referrals, and helping maintain safety and standards across the unit. Whether you're managing medications, mentoring staff, or responding to a crisis, your skills will make a real impact every day.

What You’ll Need
