Job summary

Cathedral Home for Children is seeking staff to implement and manage accurate client medication protocols, conduct client assessments and screenings, and facilitate medical discharges. The role promotes vaccinations, provides medical assistance and staff training, and fosters healthy relationships with clients, families, and providers.

The work schedule is flexible based on agency and client needs, offering a balanced work-life experience.

Qualifications

  • Professionally and accurately complete client medication management, general first aid, and nursing support.
  • Assist with the medication self-administration program and provide ongoing quality assurance monitoring and training.
  • Assist in administering and monitoring the Tuberculosis and Infection Control Program.
  • Demonstrates understanding of individual client needs, abilities, and feelings, including developmental and cultural needs.
  • Participate in the ongoing assessment of the agency's health and safety policies.
  • Accurately create and maintain a current and accurate medication list for all clients.
  • Effectively navigates client records to access information necessary to schedule medical appointments and complete provider paperwork.
  • Understand and comply with HIPAA regulations and maintain the confidentiality of Cathedral Home clients and employees in all situations.
  • Complete reports on a variety of healthcare processes as needed.
  • Recognize and comply with the department's security and safety requirements, including notifying on-call staff when necessary.
  • Perform physical holds/restraints as needed.
  • Knows the "Six Rights" for clients in the self-administration of medication.
  • Maintain an appropriate level of professionalism regarding boundaries and relationships with clients.
  • Professionally communicate verbally and in writing with staff, clients, and outside vendors.
  • Attend meetings as needed and as directed by the supervisor.

  • Participate in the ongoing assessment of the agency's health and safety policies.

  • Effectively navigates client records to access information necessary to schedule medical appointments and complete provider paperwork.
  • Accurate and timely completion of records, filing, forms, and other electronic systems based on input from various sources, including providers, medical, and direct care staff.
