ABOUT THE ROLE: The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing genuine medical care management and nursing services for clients across Adult and Children's Services at Helping Hand. The RN also serves as one of two designated Nurse Trainers for the agency, aligning with state regulations, law, accrediting bodies, and HH's mission and policies.
Schedule And Compensation
- On-site position, tMonday-Friday
- 40 hours per week.
- Some flexibility needed during varying hours including evening and weekends in accordance with the position’s needs.
- Salary range $83,000-$90,000 year (exempt).
- Salary based on skills and experience.
- Up to 8% annual bonus potential.
- 403b retirement plan with up to 4% company match.

a Typical Day For You At Hh
- Oversee medication administration including but not limited to: supervise administration of medications, train employees in medication administration, complete CBTAs and documentation, review medication orders, and maintain filing and organization of paperwork to remain in compliance with monitoring/funding bodies.
- Provide training for medical techniques such as g-tube feeding, colostomy bag care, and wound care.
- Dispense medications to people served, as needed
- Provide/complete nursing assessments for people served and medication administration training to employees per DHS guidelines in accordance with Rule 116 and best nursing practices.
- Complete Annual Health Assessments developing a service plan of care for people served.
- Complete client SAMA and update medical histories as required.
- Order/discontinue medications as necessary and receive, review, communicate & distribute monthly medications, physician orders, and MARS.
- Oversee internal medical clinics such as primary care, laboratory, podiatry, vision, and psychiatry, including completing documentation and communicating any findings to the individual’s team.
- Monitor and update the medical records of people served, including updating health records, reviewing and interpreting medical records, and arranging and following up on medical referrals.
- Act as a consultant to employees on medication and medical issues. Which includes service training for staff and providing literature on medical concerns.
- Monitor medication errors and maintain records accordingly; provide plan of correction when errors occur.
- Serve as part of Intake Committee to provide medical guidance on diagnoses and medical related concerns.
- Act as a liaison between clients and their medical providers; part of the discharge planning process from hospitals and short-term care facilities.
- Administer tuberculin skin (TB) tests to staff according to agency policy and ensure client tests are completed via the lab according to expiration guidelines.
- Review monthly pharmacy statements to ensure accuracy of client medication billing and work with prescribing doctors or pharmacy for reduction of costs or change of medication to maintain lowest cost for each client.
- Participate in Interdisciplinary Team and client planning meetings as appropriate.
- Maintain a regular work schedule from Monday-Friday, along with being available and dependable during varying hours including evening and weekends in accordance with the position’s needs.
- Must attend all team/agency meetings and trainings as scheduled.
- Team members in this role may be required to travel between agency locations or other community sites based on operational needs and client/student support requirements.

Qualifications
LAND THIS OPPORTUNITY BY HAVING:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Completion of the DHS approved "Nurse Trainer" program, or to be completed within 60 days of hire.
- Ability to fulfill all necessary training requirements of the agency, including but not limited to crisis management (crisis management training includes de-escalation strategies and physical management techniques).
Experience
- Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse to be eligible to participate in Rule 116 training course.
- One (1) year experience working with intellectual and developmental disability population.
Skill Sets
- Excceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficient and comfortable using technology such as Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom, etc.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask and prioritize multiple urgencies as required.
- Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record and proof of ongoing personal motor vehicle insurance.
- Ability to promote and adhere to company values.

Work Environment
- The person in this position may encounter clients exhibiting physical aggression; must be comfortable working in periods of crisis and feel comfortable de-escalating individually or as a team.
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to assist clients/students, access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- The ability to observe details at a close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- Consistently position self to maintain files in cabinets or assist clients/students.
- The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in all situations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and flexibility to adapt to changes throughout the day.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively with the entire team to ensure safe and efficient delivery of services while utilizing strong conflict management and team building skills.

- Maintain an assigned workspace in a clean and organized manner as well as maintain professional and appropriate grooming and hygiene.
- Must be able to maintain confidential information.
- This role requires travel between locations; therefore, candidates must possess a valid driver's license, maintain an acceptable driving record, have access to reliable transportation, and provide proof of personal vehicle insurance.
