Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet in Joliet, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver safe ICU care during night shifts (7p-7a) on a full-time basis, including weekend and holiday rotation.

You will apply the nursing process, educate patients and families, coordinate with the care team, and maintain patient privacy and high standards of safety.

Requirements include an active RN license, BLS, ACLS, and preference for CC RN/ICU experience.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS certification required at hire and maintained.
• Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Minimum one year as staff RN in an acute care hospital; critical care preferred.
• CCRN certification preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process in ICU.
• Direct patient and family teaching and guide nursing staff.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to physician and respond to emergencies.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the ICU. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. They communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
