Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for the Coronary Care Unit (CCU). You will deliver safe patient care using the nursing process, assess and respond to cardiac patient conditions, and collaborate with physicians to manage monitoring and treatments.

The role requires an IL RN license, BLS and ACLS, and basic arrhythmia interpretation within specified timelines. BSN is preferred, with acute care and ventilator management experience welcomed.

Shift:Full-Time; Days; 7a-7:30p

Facility:Saint Joseph Medical Center

Location:Joliet, IL

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Coronary Care Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to their assigned patients. They communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current and valid state RN License.

2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

3. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

4. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.

5. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.

6. Ventilator Management experience preferred.

7. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
