Job summary

Prime Healthcare Services in Harlingen, TX is seeking a Full-Time Cath Lab RN for day shifts. Provides pre-procedure assessments, intra-procedure support, and post-procedure care with a focus on patient safety and accurate documentation.

Required RN license, BCLS/ACLS on hire, and 1 year CV Lab or Critical Care experience. Sign-on bonus available with eligibility details discussed at interview.

Qualifications

• RN license required (active in state).
• ACLS and BCLS certifications required upon hire and maintain.
• 1 year of clinical Cardiovascular Lab or Critical Care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients, obtain histories, perform pre-procedure exams for cardiac catheterization.
• Assist cardiologists during angioplasties, stent placements, EP studies and other cardiac interventions.
• Monitor patient post-procedure; provide discharge instructions and ensure stability.
• Operate and troubleshoot cath lab equipment and hemodynamic monitors.
• Document care accurately across pre/intra/post-procedure phases.
• Stay updated on advances in cardiac care and catheterization techniques.

Hours: 8 hour shifts

Location: Harlingen Medical Center - Harlingen, Texas

Responsibilities

• Assess patients, obtain medical histories, perform physical exams, and prepare patients for cardiac catheterization procedures (Pre-Procedure Preparation)
• Assist cardiologists during procedures such as angioplasties, stent placements, electrophysiological studies, and other cardiac interventions (Intra-Procedure Assistance)
• Monitoring patient post-procedure for complications, provide post-procedure instructions, and ensuring patient stability before discharge or transfer to another unit
• Operate and troubleshoot complex medical equipment used in the catheterization lab, such as hemodynamic monitors and other diagnostic tools
• Quickly respond to any emergencies or complications that arise during procedures, such as arrhythmias, myocardial infarctions, or bleeding
• Accurately document all aspects of patient care, including pre-procedure assessments, intra-procedure details, and post-procedure outcomes
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in cardiac care and catheterization techniques

Qualifications

1. Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN); preferred. 2. Active state Registered Nursing (RN) License; required. 3. Current BCLS (AHA), ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current; required. 4. One (1) year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area; required.
