Job summary

• Willingness to travel within the Grand Rapids area and occasional evenings/weekends.
• Experience with ventilators, tracheostomies, feeding tubes is a plus.

Role Description

This part-time, on-site Registered Nurse role is based in the Grand Rapids Metropolitan Area and focuses on providing in-home pediatric nursing care. The Registered Nurse will perform comprehensive assessments, administer medications and treatments, monitor vital signs, and manage complex medical equipment as prescribed by the physician. Daily responsibilities include implementing individualized care plans, documenting patient status and interventions, and collaborating with physicians, therapists, and care coordinators to ensure continuity of care. The nurse will educate families on disease processes, home care procedures, and safety practices, while offering emotional support and guidance to caregivers. The role also involves adhering to all regulatory standards, infection control protocols, and agency policies to maintain a safe, high-quality care environment.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan and current BLS/CPR certification.
• Demonstrated pediatric nursing skills, including assessment, medication administration, and management of chronic or complex conditions.
• Experience with home health or community-based care, including care planning, documentation, and coordination with interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication and family education skills, with the ability to support caregivers and build trust in diverse home environments.
• Ability to work independently in the field, exercise sound clinical judgment, and respond effectively to urgent or emergent situations.
• Reliable transportation to travel within the Grand Rapids Metropolitan Area and flexibility to work part-time, including occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
• Preferred: Experience with ventilators, tracheostomies, feeding tubes, or other pediatric medical technologies; prior work with Medicaid/Medicare or private insurance documentation.
