Job summary

TEEMA is seeking an experienced Oncology Infusion RN to join a compassionate, patient-centered oncology team in an outpatient setting in Arizona. You will safely administer chemotherapy and infusion therapies, monitor patients, and support education and care coordination.

You will collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to optimize treatment and patient outcomes, while adhering to clinical guidelines and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Active AZ RN license required.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required.
  • BSN preferred; oncology infusion nursing experience preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year oncology infusion or chemotherapy administration experience preferred.
  • Oncology/hematology nursing experience desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Safely administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and infusion medications according to physician orders and protocols.
  • Calculate, prepare, and verify chemotherapy dosages.
  • Review laboratory values prior to treatment administration.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after infusions for adverse reactions.
  • Operate infusion pumps and related clinical equipment.
  • Coordinate care with physicians regarding treatment modifications.
  • Follow Oncology Nursing Society guidelines and OSHA safety standards.
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and clinical evaluations.
  • Document treatments, meds, symptoms, vital signs in EMR.
  • Educate patients and families on chemotherapy and symptom management.
  • Triage calls and coordinate care with team members.
  • Identify complications and initiate nursing interventions.

No Oncology Experience Necessary

What You'll Do
Chemotherapy & Infusion Services

Safely administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and infusion medications according to physician orders and established protocols.

Calculate, prepare, and verify chemotherapy dosages.

Review laboratory values prior to treatment administration.

Monitor patients before, during, and after infusions for adverse reactions and changes in condition.

Operate and troubleshoot infusion pumps and related clinical equipment.

Collaborate with physicians regarding treatment modifications and patient care needs.

Follow Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) guidelines and OSHA safety standards for chemotherapy handling.

Patient Care & Clinical Support

Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing clinical evaluations.

Document treatments, medications, symptoms, vital signs, and patient responses accurately within the EMR.

Educate patients and families on chemotherapy, medications, symptom management, and supportive care resources.

Triage patient phone calls and coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.

Identify treatment-related complications and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.

Support efficient patient flow while delivering an exceptional patient experience.

Coordinate medication refills and follow-up care.

Advocate for patients and connect them with available community resources.

Qualifications

Required

Current Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Current BLS/CPR certification.

Preferred

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Minimum of one year of oncology infusion or chemotherapy administration experience.

Oncology and hematology nursing experience.
