Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and infusion meds per orders and protocols.
• Prepare, calculate, and verify chemotherapy dosages.
• Monitor patient status before, during, and after infusions for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families on chemotherapy, meds, and symptom management.
• Document treatments and vitals in the EMR; coordinate care with the team.
• Triage calls and support efficient patient flow in outpatient infusion.

No Oncology Experience Necessary

What You'll Do

Chemotherapy & Infusion Services

Safely administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and infusion medications according to physician orders and established protocols.

Calculate, prepare, and verify chemotherapy dosages.

Review laboratory values prior to treatment administration.

Monitor patients before, during, and after infusions for adverse reactions and changes in condition.

Operate and troubleshoot infusion pumps and related clinical equipment.

Collaborate with physicians regarding treatment modifications and patient care needs.

Follow Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) guidelines and OSHA safety standards for chemotherapy handling.

Patient Care & Clinical Support

Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing clinical evaluations.

Document treatments, medications, symptoms, vital signs, and patient responses accurately within the EMR.

Educate patients and families on chemotherapy, medications, symptom management, and supportive care resources.

Triage patient phone calls and coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.

Identify treatment-related complications and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.

Support efficient patient flow while delivering an exceptional patient experience.

Coordinate medication refills and follow-up care.

Advocate for patients and connect them with available community resources.

Qualifications

Required

Current Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Current BLS/CPR certification.

Preferred

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Minimum of one year of oncology infusion or chemotherapy administration experience.
