Job summary

Worksourceheartofgeorgia is seeking qualified nursing professionals to provide and supervise direct patient care for adolescent, adults, and geriatric patients under the supervision of the Department Director. Key qualifications include graduation from an accredited nursing school, a valid nursing license in Georgia, and BCLS certification. Experience is preferred, but training can be provided.

Job description

Under the supervision of Department Director and Chief Clinical Officer, provides and supervises direct and indirect patient care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Communicates with physicians, as appropriate, about changes in patient’s condition including results of diagnostic studies. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties with minimal supervision.

Minimal Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Current unencumbered license from Georgia Board of Nursing
• Current BCLS certification
• Obtain ACLS certification within 1 year of hire and maintain current certification (If working in Emergency Department, Medical Surgical Unit, Specialty Care Unit or Surgery)
• Obtain PALS certification within 1 year of hire and maintain current certification (if working in Emergency Department)
• Experience: Experience preferred, but not necessary, may obtain on the job.
• Ability to proficiently perform all essential job responsibilities

Physical/Mental Demands

• Ability to think and work effectively under stress with frequent interruptions; to move, sit, stand, walk, and bend intermittently throughout the work day. Lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable the applicant to adequately fulfill the requirements of this position.
• Use of mechanical and technical equipment required for the responsibilities assigned.

Occupational Exposure to Blood borne Pathogens

Orientation Period

• Up to 90 days to perform proficiently all essential position responsibilities. The first ninety (90) days this position is assumed is considered the probationary/introductory period, for which the employee is subject to continuous review.
