Arkansas Department of Health in Farmington is seeking a Registered Nurse to support the Division of Health Advancement – Tobacco Prevention and Cessation. The RN will provide direct patient care, assess health needs, and contribute to public health initiatives within schools and communities.

Ideal candidates hold AR RN licensure, CPR certification, and 2+ years in school nursing with 3+ years in public health program planning and implementation.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Arkansas.
  • Two (2) years of experience in school nursing.
  • Three (3) years of experience planning and/or implementing Public Health programs.
  • CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient health, monitor vital signs, and document patient progress.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with medical orders.

Additional Preferences

Frequent state and regional travel required. Occasional out-of-state travel is required for training purposes. Must have a valid driver’s license.

This office will be located in the Farmington Northwest Education Cooperative building.

A BSN is preferred.

Two (2) years of experience in school nursing.

Three (3) years of experience planning and/or implementing Public Health programs.

Experience presenting and/or communication to multidisciplinary preferred.

Occasional work, including but not limited to phone calls, outside of standard business hours may be required.

CPR certification required.

Experience working with electronic health records preferred.

Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.

Exposure to environmental hazards may occur.

Must be willing to complete Tobacco Treatment Specialist Training.

State issued cell phones are required to be charged and turned on and with employee when in work status. App has the capability to geo-locate.

Job Summary

Registered Nurses (RNs) provide direct patient care in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and community health programs. RNs assess patient health, develop care plans, administer treatments, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care.
