Job summary

Illinois School District U-46 is seeking a Registered Nurse to work with students, staff and families to assess, intervene and prevent health problems in the school environment. This 10-month position requires providing direct nursing care, coordinating student health plans and ensuring accurate documentation.

The role involves administering medications per physician orders, participating in communicable disease reporting, and collaborating with a health services team.

Qualifications

• Provides health assessment, emergency assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation and management for students, staff and families.
• Implements Student Health Plans in the school environment.
• Participates in communicable disease reporting and prevention in schools.
• Administers nursing care as ordered by physicians and in line with nursing practice guidelines.
• Administers medications within established procedures and communicates with parents and physicians as needed.
• Identifies abnormal health findings and provides community health resources as needed.
• Documents health office visits and student immunizations for mandated requirements.
• Reports data to ISBE, IDPH and DHS mandated health programs.

Function / Position Summary

Job Duties / Responsibilities
