Job summary

RecruitFront is seeking a Licensed Registered Nurse to support students in Elementary and Jr/Sr High Schools in New York. The RN will perform professional nursing activities, administer medications, assess care needs and maintain health records under supervision.

Responsibilities include counseling students on health prevention and recovery, and providing skilled nursing care in a school setting. Fingerprint clearance and NYS Education Department requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Registered Professional Nurse License.
• Completion of a course of study approved by the NYS Education Dept. as qualifying as a Registered Professional Nurse
• Three months of hospital or skilled nursing facility experience.

• Assess patient nursing care needs.
• Maintains essential health care records and reports as necessary.

• Does related work as required.

Job description

We are currently looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to support both our Elementary and Jr/Sr High Schools.This work involves the performance of professional nursing activities in the care, comfort and well-being of student patients. Works under the general supervision of the Student Support Administrator with a degree of latitude permitted for independent judgment in nursing care skills and patient needs. May exercise some supervision over subordinate staff. Does related work as required.

Hours:

Monday-Friday, 7.25hrs per day

Typical Work Activities:

• Performs assigned nursing activities, procedures and administers specified medications/treatments as required;
• Assess patient nursing care needs.
• Maintains essential health care records and reports as necessary;
• Gives skilled nursing care and prescribed treatment to student patients.
• Identifies physical illness of student patients through observation and analysis of records.
• Counsels and guides individual in the prevention of illness and the attainment of health recovery.
• Does related work as required.

Full Performance, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Characteristics:

Good knowledge of current professional nursing practices; skill in the application of current nursing procedures and techniques of patient care; ability to assess the needs and concerns of people and maintain constructive working relationships in dealing with them; ability to communicate effectively; ability to accept and utilize guidance; ability to perform duties in accordance with the ANA code for Professional Nurses; Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:
