CRH is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care across acute, skilled, and urgent care settings. The RN applies life-span care principles and coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team.

The role includes communicating with providers about patient changes, participating in CQI activities, supervising other staff, and ensuring compliance with policy and confidentiality.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse provides direct and indirect patient care in the acute, skilled care, and/or urgent care setting. The RN demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to the patient population served. The RN coordinates patient care, collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, by developing and implementing the plan of care. He/she communicates with the provider about changes in patient's condition, including clinical findings and diagnostic results, and can respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment. He/she participates in performance improvement and clinical quality initiatives (CQI) activities. The RN directs and supervises care delivered by other healthcare personnel as outlined by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing. Additionally, he/she can perform general nursing duties in all assigned departments.

Compliance:

Understand and comply with the requirements of the CRH Compliance Program, including, but not limited to the Code of Conduct, the Compliance Policy, all organization-wide policies for compliance, and compliance plans affecting specific duties and responsibilities. Participates in all education and training programs regarding compliance as required by CRH policy.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent; Completion of an accredited nursing program, Associate’s Degree or Higher.

Experience:

0-2 years’ experience in an acute care setting preferred; not required.

Certificates, License, Registrations:

Successful passing of the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses, BLS, PALS, and ACLS for the Healthcare Provider required.

Primary Job Duties/Essential Functions:

  • Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition.
  • Follows the five medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors.
  • Ability to monitor hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interpret the results.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring; identifies dysrhythmias and treats appropriately based upon BLS/ACLS/PALS protocols.
  • Consults other departments as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to patients’ needs.
  • Communicates effectively and appropriate to medical staff, coworkers, and leadership.
  • Delegates care tasks, as appropriate and within guidelines, to licensed and unlicensed staff.
  • Demonstrates an ability to assist providers as appropriate.
  • Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized, and functions well under stressful situations.
  • Treats patients, visitors, and coworkers with respect and dignity.
  • Documentation meets current standards and policies.
  • Appearance and work space are neat and clean; adheres to dress code.
  • Enforces and abides by policies/procedures of the hospital.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Completes annual required education/ competencies.
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled, ready for work. Completes work within the designated timeframe.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities of the unit/ department.
  • Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Security/Access:

24-hour access availability to the facility. Individuals are required to have proper name badge identification on and visible at all times. Individuals may be given door codes to access restricted areas.

Common patient care equipment may include, but not limited to, vital sign machines, telemetry monitoring equipment, scales, lift equipment, scales, lift equipment, infusion pumps, hospital beds, bedside commodes, walker, wheelchairs, and other equipment necessary to perform the necessary job functions.
