Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing daily care, health needs, safety, and comfort of residents. This includes professional assessments, documentation of residents' health, and assisting with management of nursing units and staff.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of resident care plans, maintain up-to-date nursing care plans, document progress, and recommend revisions to care plans (MDS) according to facility policies and procedures;
  • Conduct daily and periodic resident visits to monitor and observe physical and mental conditions;
  • Perform routine nursing procedures, working closely with physicians and families to maintain residents' health and mental well-being;
  • Provide emotional support to residents and their families, and handle complaints, allegations, accidents, or incidents;
  • Document medical records, complete 24-hour reports, shift reports, narcotic counts, and document medication destruction;
  • Maintain current resident medical records.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a valid RN license in good standing per State and Federal requirements;
  • Thorough understanding of safe and effective nursing practices within Florida;
  • Basic computer skills;
  • Passion for caring for people;
  • Personal integrity and tactfulness when dealing with residents, families, visitors, and staff;
  • Ability to handle confidential information and comply with HIPAA regulations;
  • Proficiency with computers, Word, Excel, and office machines;
  • Willingness to work every other weekend.
