Job summary

Wexford Health Sources, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse for Abingdon Regional Jail in Abingdon, VA. The shift runs 5am-5:30pm, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

You will lead, educate, and advocate for patients, collaborating with healthcare and correctional staff to assess needs, administer medications, and guide treatment plans from start to finish. You will play a key role in patient education, timely referrals, and upholding safety and standards across the unit.

Qualifications

• Active unrestricted RN license in state of practice.
• 1–2 years nursing experience; correctional experience preferred.
• Active CPR certification.
• Strong clinical and communication skills in high-pressure settings.
• Compassionate, nonjudgmental patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assess physical and mental health needs; administer medications and guide treatment plans.
• Educate patients and make timely referrals; support safety and standards across the unit.
• Manage medications, mentor staff, and respond to crises; contribute to care continuity.

What You’ll Need
