Job summary

Confluence Health is seeking a Medical Assistant Registered to support providers and the care team with patient-facing and clerical tasks. You will assist with rooming patients, measuring vital signs, documenting histories, and helping with visits under supervision.

The role emphasizes high-quality patient care, accurate charting in the EMR, and coordination of tests and follow-up. CPR certification is required, and prior medical experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Eligible to obtain Medical Assistant Registration (application completed upon hire).
• Previous medical experience, such as NAC, EMT.
• Medical Terminology.
• Basic computer skills and office experience.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients in a prompt and friendly manner and prepares patient for exam; in conjunction with clinical team to maintain timely flow of patients.
• Obtains and records appropriate vital signs, per department protocols or guidelines in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Obtains patient medical history and reason for visit, documents accurately, in order to maintain a complete and legally correct medical record.
• Administer vaccines as directed by the provider.
• Assists in minor emergencies, as directed by the provider or RN with in the Medical Assistant Registered scope of practice.
• Schedules lab, x-ray, and other tests as directed by the provider. Instructs the patient in routine collection of samples, testing procedures and general requirements by specific depts. Provides follow-up lab results and callbacks to patients as delegated.
• Communicates with patients, relays important information to the provider and provides follow-up to the patient.
• Responsible for maintaining clean exam rooms, cleaning instruments and stocking items for use in the exam and procedure room.
• Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
