The Burlington County Health Department is seeking to hire a licensed Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS). This position will primarily support the Consumer Health Program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: investigation of complaints and enforcement of state and local codes regarding retail food establishments, public recreational bathing facilities, body-art facilities, youth camp facilities, and other NJDoH mandated inspections responsibilities.

Possession of a valid Registered Environmental Health Specialist License issued by the NJ Department of Health and Senior Services preferred. Trainees must be eligible to sit for the REHS exam in December 2026 and receive their license within one year of being hired

The position will be 40 hours Monday-Friday with an on-call rotation of holidays and weekends as needed.

Licensed REHS position starts at $52,841 and REHS trainee starts at $46,763.
