Qualifications

Position SummaryThe Registered Electroencephalographic (EEG) Technologist prepares and conducts various electroencephalographic (EEG) examinations, basic EEG’s, extended epilepsy monitoring, extended monitoring, intraoperative monitoring, and evoke potentials. The Registered EEG Technologist conducts various electroencephalographic examinations and collects information pertaining to the interpretation of the test; as well as evaluates the function and provision of services to patients by using equipment, effective communication skills within and between departments, and close coordination with department Director, Medical Director, and medical staff. The Registered EEG Technologist ensures methods of compliance with the Joint Commission and other regulatory and practice standards; and provides patient care and age-appropriate interventions.Minimum Position RequirementsWork Experience:Related experience with healthcare equipment in a hospital/healthcare setting.Two years of experience as an EEG technologist, preferably in a hospital setting.License/Registration/Certification:Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.Must be current, and maintain, a Registered EEG Technologist (R.
