  • Assist in care and maintenance of department equipment; report malfunctions.
  • Ensure patient charges are accurate and orders are correct for all studies.
  • Assist with stress tests and EKGs as needed.
  • Take call on rotating schedule.

Job description

White Oak Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Registered Echo Technologist for our Cardiology Unit who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As a Registered Echo Technologist, you will:
  • Receive physicians order for inpatient and outpatients. Reviews electronic medical record for pertinent history.
  • Prepare patients for procedure, considering their physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs. Follows proper procedure for transport of patients when applicable. Provide patient care in a safe and compassionate manner.
  • Perform echocardiograms for pediatric and adult patients according to protocol. Perform studies to ICAEL standard, department policy and procedure, and ACC/AHC standards.
  • Examine the heart from the appropriate echo views assessing wall motion, valve function, chamber size, and any abnormalities seen, notify cardiologist of any critical results.
  • Assist in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies. Notify biomed of all equipment malfunctions. Notify supervisor of equipment and malfunctions.
  • Assure that all patient charges can be accurately completed. Confirm that there is a correct order for all studies done.
  • Assist with stress test and EKGs if needed.
  • Take call on rotating schedule.
