Qualifications

  • Degree in nursing (Associate, Diploma or Baccalaureate).
  • Two years’ work experience in department-specific area preferred.
  • One year supervisory experience preferred.
  • Current Maryland State nursing license is required.
  • Certification in department-specific area within first year.
  • Active American Heart Association BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Assure the delivery of quality department/clinical services per standards.
  • Implement daily operations per the care delivery model with just-in-time adjustments.
  • Assist the Manager with department operations, budgets and goals.
  • Collaborate with physicians to assure optimum patient care.
  • Promote intra- and inter-disciplinary teamwork within the department.
  • Develop evidence-based standards of care for the area.
  • Ensure adherence to standards of care and report significant events.
  • Demonstrate professional behavior, mentor staff and be a resource.
  • Execute all other duties as required.

White Oak Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Assistant Nurse Manager for our IMCU who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As a Assistant Nurse Manager, you will:
  • Assure the delivery of quality department /clinical services in accordance with established hospital and regulatory/accreditation agency standards.
  • Implement daily operations, as defined by the care delivery model, for their unit with just in time adjustments to match patient needs with unit resources.
  • Assist the Manager with the overall operations of their assigned department. This includes and is not limited to: development of department goals and objectives that are consistent with the AHC’s mission and strategic plan, the management of personnel, preparing/monitoring of and accountability for the department budgets.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other members of the Health Care Team to assure the delivery of optimum age appropriate patient care.
  • Promote cohesive work teams by actively supporting intra- and inter-disciplinary teamwork, within the department and organization
  • Participate in the development of Evidence based Standards of care for clinical area of responsibility.
  • Ensure adherence to standards of care defined by professional and regulatory organizations, and knowledgeable of structure standards.
  • Report significant events such as: near misses; adverse events; patient/family complaints; and any situation that affects the safe delivery of patient-centered care in a timely manner, communicates these events and resolutions to department clinical manager
  • Demonstrate positive customer service, fosters positive employee relations and assures that staff adheres to the Customer Service Behavioral Standards.
  • Promote a positive and professional image and is a role model, coach, mentor, problem solver and resource for staff and peers.
  • Execute all other duties as required.
Qualifications include:

Work Schedule:
  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Hours per Week: 40 hrs/week
  • Hours per Week: 40 hours per week (two 12 hour shifts as charge nurse and 2 8 hour shifts as management)
  • Typical Daily Schedule: 6:45am –7:15pm
  • Shift Type: Days
  • Weekend Requirements: Required, every other weekend rotation
  • Holiday Requirements: Follow unit holiday calendar
  • Shift Differential Eligible: Yes
  • Pay Range: $41.00 - $61.00
  • If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.
  • Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), this position is classified as: United States of America (Non-Exempt)
