Job summary

Mosaic Life Care in Saint Joseph, MO is seeking an Echo Technician to perform non-invasive ultrasound studies of the heart, including echocardiograms, stress echo, and TEE, on-site.

Under leadership, you will optimize imaging quality, analyze data, prepare preliminary reports, and assist physicians in patient management. Prior ARDMS/CCI certification and accredited training are required or within 18 months.

Qualifications

  • Accredited cardiac ultrasound program completed.
  • ARDMS or CCI RDCS/RDMS registration required within 1.5 years.
  • 3 months to 1 year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform echocardiographic studies including stress echo and TEE.
  • Adjust scanning technique to optimize image quality and waveform.
  • Analyze findings to provide data to physician for diagnosis.
  • Prepare preliminary report worksheet for physician.
  • Conduct patient assessments related to ultrasonic procedures.
  • Begin IVs as needed.
  • Transport patients as needed between facilities.
  • Perform limited preventative maintenance on equipment.

Job Description

The Echo Technician works under the supervision of leadership. Performs non-invasive ultrasound diagnostic procedures on the heart (echo, TEE and stress echo).

Responsibilities
  • Performs echocardiographic studies, stress echo, TEE, and contrast echo studies.
  • Recognizes sonographic characteristics of normal and abnormal tissues, structures and blood flow; Adjusts scanning technique to optimize image quality and spectral waveform characteristics.
  • Analyzes sonographic findings throughout the course of the examination so that a comprehensive exam is completed and sufficient data is provided to the physician to direct patient management and render a final diagnosis.
  • Assesses patient charts and prepares preliminary report worksheet for physician.
  • Perform patient assessments as it relates to the diagnostic ultrasound procedure.
  • Begin IVs as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Transports patients to and from department. (Maryville and Albany Specific)
  • Performs limited preventative maintenance of equipment. (Maryville Specific)

Education
  • Successful completion of accredited Cardiac Ultrasound program - Required
  • Equivalent work experience paired with ARDMS or CCI Registered Cardiac Sonographer - Required

Work Experience
  • Experience in performing echocardiograms. - Preferred
  • 3 months to 1 year experience (Maryville Specific)

Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) - Required within 1 1/2 Yrs Or
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - Required within 1 1/2 Yrs
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Within 90 days of employment - Required within 90 Days

Travel Requirements
  • Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off-site locations as needed. - Required
