Job Summary

The RD (Registered Dietitian) supports the care enhancement program by providing telephonic nutritional care and resource utilization to members, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective service. The role involves coordinating with healthcare providers and team members to support comprehensive healthcare management. The RD is supervised by an Operations Manager and participates in orientation, competency testing, and ongoing training.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:30am - 6pm CT (non-negotiable). New hires must attend structured training without absence during the first 60 days.

Essential Job Functions

• Deliver dietary services within the RD scope to members with various health conditions, providing nutritional consultations and coaching as needed.
• Follow company policy to transfer calls to RNs or other colleagues when member needs are outside the RD scope.
• Assess member needs, establish goals, and develop tailored nutrition plans aligned with physician treatment when applicable.
• Document nutrient interactions, supplement use, and educational needs in the appropriate documentation tools.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members, including PCPs and other providers, to ensure continuity of care.
• Gather and evaluate member data, coordinate information exchange, and escalate issues as appropriate.

• Highly organized, self-directed, with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with medically oriented documentation and working in fast-paced environments.
• Proven ability to influence patient and provider outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current RD registration is required.
• Minimum of 2 years recent clinical RD experience, preferably with telephonic dietary coaching.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field; basic physiology and chronic disease knowledge.
• Strong communication skills, proficiency in data analysis, and basic computer skills.
• Ability to educate and motivate individuals in a telephonic setting using adult learning principles.
