Position Overview
The Registered Dietitian coordinates a plan of care for enteral therapy patients which may include reviewing clinical documents, therapy prescriptions, screening for nutrition risk, conducting nutrition assessments, conducting Medicare reviews, working formula calculations, providing nutrition followup and enteral support, and participating in projects for the clinical department as needed.
The starting pay for our Registered Dietitian is $60,000 per year depending on experience. Essential Job Functions
- Fully remote position, supporting tube-fed patients in their care at home
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, acting within scope of practice and using excellent clinical judgment to make recommendations for nutrition support
- Conduct nutrition screening, nutrition assessments, and reassessments and as requested or as clinically indicated
- Complete through clinical reviews to determine patient’s eligibility for Medicare coverage of enteral supplies; complete Medicare forms for billing purposes
- Coordinate with PCP or medical team for issues such as insurance eligibility and reimbursement, and/or obtaining clinical documentation for authorization in coordination with patient care team
- Review clinical documents, prescriptions and other clinical information as needed
- Perform or assist with formula prescription calculations
- Respond to patient questions and concerns and provide nutrition support to patients and caregivers by troubleshooting issues and providing recommendations as appropriate to the patient’s medical team
- Document interactions with patients, caregivers, and healthcare practitioners in Brightree software
- Assist in special projects such as formula pricing, coding, spreadsheets, reimbursement issues, and formula volume calculation tools Maintain the skills and qualifications necessary to provide compliant and quality care, including obtaining licensure in assigned states
- Submit accurate time and attendance records
Requirements
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or Dietetics
- Minimum Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Nutritionist or Dietitian
- Required Certification/ License: Must possess a current license from the CDR
Other Skills/Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft suite of products including Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Must possess a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to work independently at times and within a team.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to interact in a collaborative manner with other departments and teams
