Rivervalleyhcw in California seeks a registered dietitian to oversee nutritional clinical operations and to lead survey kitchen and dining programs for a LTC facility.

Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy, coordinate with the Dietary Supervisor, and ensure high-quality food, service, and nutrition care for residents. EMR experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • For this role, a Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or related field and experience in long-term care are required.
  • Registered Dietitian licensure or state certification is required or mandated by the state.
  • Experience with medical nutrition therapy and a background in nutrition services is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate MNT needs and implement interventions to improve residents' nutritional status.
  • Coordinate resident care with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Review and customize regular and therapeutic menus with Nutrition Services leadership.
  • Conduct meal rounds and interviews to ensure appropriate food quantities and textures.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations; participate in surveys.
  • Provide in-service training to staff on Nutrition and Foodservice topics.

Job description

Will oversee the nutritional clinical operations and survey kitchen and dining programs for a facility.

Experience necessary at least 2 years Long Term Care.

EMR charting experience is a plus.

Summary:

Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy and work with the Dietary Supervisor to ensure that quality food, service and nutritional care are being provided to residents by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates the Medical Nutrition Therapy needs of the residents and implements appropriate interventions to improve their nutritional status.
  • Coordinates resident care with the Interdisciplinary Team.
  • Coordinates with the Nutrition Services Supervisor/Manager the review and customization of the regular and therapeutic menus.
  • Conducts meal rounds and interviews staff and residents to ensure residents are receiving foods in the amount, type, consistency, and frequency required to maintain or improve nutritional status.
  • Routinely inspects the food service area(s) and practices for compliance with company policies, procedures, standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Participates in the long-term care survey process.
  • Provides in-service training to Nursing Center staff on topics related to Nutrition and Foodservice.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field; experience in long-term care environment. Computer Skills:

Certificates and Licenses:

Registered Dietitian or certification as mandated by the state in which employed.
