Job summary

Grove Park Healthcare Center in East Orange, NJ, is seeking a Dietitian to join our dedicated team. Shift hours are 8AM-4PM with flexibility. We offer competitive wages, daily pay options, generous PTO, comprehensive insurance, and a pathway for career advancement including tuition reimbursement.

You will conduct nutritional assessments, counsel patients, create individualized meal plans, and document progress while collaborating with the care team to support optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Provide individual/group nutrition counseling.
• Develop individualized meal plans considering medical, cultural, and ethical factors.
• Maintain timely documentation and protect patient information.

Responsibilities

• Completes a comprehensive nutritional assessment on each patient upon admission.
• Counsels patients on principles of well-balanced nutrition in individual sessions and group discussions.
• Prepares individualized meal plans considering medical, nutritional, age, cultural, religious and ethical needs.
• Provides weekly nutrition counseling for patients and families as needed.
• Updates nutritional status weekly as part of team rounds and on request.
• Completes required documentation and maintains compliance with policies.

Dietitian Responsibilities:

• Completes a comprehensive nutritional assessment on each patient upon admission
• Counsels patients on principles of well-balanced nutrition in individual sessions and conduct group nutrition discussions
• Prepares individualized meal plans that consider the needs of the patient including; medical, nutritional, age, cultural, religious and ethical concerns
• Provides at minimum weekly individual nutritional counseling for patients and family (as needed)
• Provides updates on the nutritional status of each patient weekly as part of team rounds/meetings and as requested
• Completes all required documentation and reports in a timely manner, maintaining compliance with the policies and procedures
• Demonstrates accountability for the proper use of patients protected health information
• Monitors meals and snacks, including eating/modeling normal eating with eating disordered patients
• Communication with referring and/or outpatient dietitian upon admit to program, during course of treatment as needed, and upon discharge from program
