The Role You’ll Contribute

The registered dietitian utilizes the nutrition care process to screen, assess, diagnose, offer nutrition intervention, and monitor the nutrition status and progress of patients. The dietitian follows the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Standards of Practice in Nutrition Care and Standards of Professional Performance for registered dietitians. Acts with outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships with all.

The Value You’ll Bring to the Team
  • Assessment: Completes nutrition-focused physical assessments, takes measurements, reviews medical records, collects data via interviews, utilizes validated tools, evaluates anthropometric status, and calculates estimated standards.
  • Diagnosis: Evaluates assessment data to identify nutrition risks, problems, malnutrition criteria, knowledge deficits, and high-risk behaviors.
  • Intervention: Offers nutrition recommendations, orders, education/counseling, and referrals as needed.
  • Education and Counseling: Provides culturally sensitive counseling and education, using evidence-based theories like the transtheoretical model and motivational interviewing.
  • Monitoring: Follows up to detect progress, adjusts nutrition care plans to reach goals, and promotes optimal outcomes.
Qualifications

The expertise and experience needed to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition or a related field (Required)
  • Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) (Required)

  • Graduate degree in nutrition or related field (Preferred)
