Job summary

College Medical Center Long Beach is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join our team in Long Beach. You will assist in preparing and serving patient and staff meals, assess patients, and recommend dietary interventions per orders.

Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA while communicating with dietitians and nursing staff. Ideal candidates have the RD licensure, at least 6 months of clinical experience, and familiarity with therapeutic diets such as renal, cardiac, vegan and more.

Qualifications

• Current valid Registered Dietitian Licensure required.
• Minimum 6 months clinical work experience; mental health experience preferred.
• Nutrition knowledge includes therapeutic diets (CCHO, Renal, Mechanical Soft, Vegan, Cardiac).
• Basic knowledge with Microsoft Word.
• Familiar with regulatory requirements (HIPAA) related to dietitian activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and service of patient and staff food items.
• Assess patients, recommend appropriate dietary interventions based on orders.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee and patient information (HIPAA).
• Label and date food, use FIFO when stocking products.

Job summary:

• A minimum of 6 months clinical work experience/mental health experience preferred.
• Possess the required health, knowledge and skills to assist in preparation and service of assigned patient and staff food items.
• Nutrition related knowledge including various therapeutic diets and associated modifications including, but not limited to CCHO, Renal, Mechanical Soft, Vegan, Cardiac preferred.
• Basic knowledge with Microsoft Word.
• Familiar with and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements relating to activities carries out by the Registered Dietitian. Specifically, in assessing patients in response to an ordered consult, recommending appropriate dietary interventions.
• Maintain employee/patient confidentiality according to HIPPA guidelines.
• Date and label food accordingly, utilize FIFO when getting new/putting away product.
• Communicate all relevant patient information to fellow diet clerks and the dietitian when appropriate.
• Communicate with nursing staff on appropriate matters.

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for CHLB/CMC, including but not limited to shift differential and other special pay practices, etc. The posted compensation for the position is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay that CHLB/CMC in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.

Pay Rate: $30.46 - $38.07 per hour
