Saint Alphonsus Diabetes Care and Education Center in Meridian, Idaho is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join as a Diabetes Educator. This PRN/As-Needed, day shift role will provide individual and group diabetes education across clinic locations in Boise, Nampa, Meridian, or Caldwell.

You will assess patients, develop self-management plans, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, monitor progress, and contribute to quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian credential through the CDR is required.
• State licensure in Idaho is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field.
• Five years of clinical dietetics experience.
• CDCES certification or willingness to obtain within 2 years.

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Dietitian to join our team as a Diabetes Educator where you'll play a key role in helping patients build the knowledge and confidence to manage their condition effectively. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in both clinical and community settings and is committed to improving health outcomes through compassionate, evidence‑based care.

Location: Saint Alphonsus Diabetes Care and Education Center, located in Meridian, Idaho

Schedule: This position is PRN/As-Needed, offers 10‑hour shifts, typically between 7a-5:30p.

This person will work in all clinic locations as needed:
Boise, Nampa, Meridian, or Caldwell

What You’ll Do

• Provide individualized and group diabetes education to patients of all ages, incorporating cultural preferences and learning styles.


• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop tailored self‑management plans.


• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support both inpatient and outpatient diabetes care programs.


• Identify barriers to effective self‑care and help patients develop problem‑solving and coping strategies.


• Monitor patient progress and adjust education plans as needed.


• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and community outreach events.


• Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to program evaluation and development.

What You Bring

• Registered Dietitian (RD) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) — required


• State licensure in the primary work location — required


• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field — required


• Five years of clinical dietetics experience


• Certification as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) or willingness to obtain within 2 years of hire


• Experience in inpatient and/or outpatient diabetes education — preferred
