IHA is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join our Diabetes Care and Education Center in Meridian, Idaho, for a part-time, day-shift role focused on diabetes education across clinic locations in Boise, Nampa, Meridian, and Caldwell. You will provide individualized and group education, perform assessments, develop self-management plans, and collaborate with inpatient and outpatient teams.

Qualifications

  • RD credential through the CDR is required.
  • State licensure in Idaho is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition/Dietetics is required.
  • Five years of clinical dietetics experience.
  • CDCES or willingness to obtain within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized and group diabetes education to patients of all ages, incorporating cultural preferences and learning styles.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop tailored self-management plans.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support inpatient and outpatient diabetes care programs.
  • Identify barriers to effective self-care and help patients develop problem-solving and coping strategies.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust education plans as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and community outreach events.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to program evaluation and development.

Schedule

This position is PRN/As-Needed, offers 10-hour shifts, typically between 7a-5:30p.

This person will work in all clinic locations as needed: Boise, Nampa, Meridian, or Caldwell.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide individualized and group diabetes education to patients of all ages, incorporating cultural preferences and learning styles.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop tailored self-management plans.

What You Bring
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) — required
  • State licensure in the primary work location — required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field — required
  • Five years of clinical dietetics experience
  • Certification as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) or willingness to obtain within 2 years of hire
  • Experience in inpatient and/or outpatient diabetes education — preferred
